Step into the quietly magical world of puppetry, where breath becomes intention, stillness speaks, and the inanimate begins to stir. In this immersive two-day workshop, we’ll explore the essential principles of puppetry: breath, focus, and weight—the three fundamental techniques to bringing any object to life.

Whether you’re completely new to puppetry or looking to reconnect with its foundational magic, this course will give you the tools to animate anything—from classic puppets to stuffed animals, masks, and even the objects around your home.

Together, we’ll also dip into more advanced waters:

• Countermovement – to unlock expressivity and deepen your puppet’s presence.
• Split focus – for the brave souls ready to juggle multiple characters at once.
• Group animation – discover how several performers can breathe as one.
• Theatrical presence and character development – learn how to let your puppet steal the spotlight.
  

You’ll have time to create short acts and present them, with guidance and space to play, explore, and be surprised by what emerges.

By the end of the weekend, you won’t just be moving a puppet—you’ll be listening to it, collaborating with it, and letting it speak through you. Come prepared to leave your ego at the door and meet your new silent partner in the dance of imagination.
